Upon entry into the home, customer brought me into the master bedroom bathroom. Customer informed me that the existing showerhead continuously leaks. This is a warranty job and I changed out the existing Kohler shower cartridge with a new Kohler shower cartridge and tested the system. As per video taken, I explained to customer that a majority of this water is trapped inside the flexible showerhead.. I proceeded to unscrew the showerhead to show him that no water was coming out of the shower arm, so the dripping is from the flexible shower line connected to the handheld shower head.
Scope of Work Completed: Installed new 1" full-port brass ball valve as the main shut-off for the community pool water supply. Valve was securely fitted to the main line and anchored per code. System was re-pressurized and thoroughly tested for leaks—no issues found. Water service was restored to the facility upon successful pressure test. Pending Work: Shower located near the pool area requires a new valve cartridge. Existing cartridge is worn and no longer functioning properly. Replacement cartridge has been ordered. Return visit will be scheduled as soon as the part arrives to complete the installation and restore full shower functionality.
Upon arrival, customer informed me that his son just purchased the house and had a couple of plumbing issues that he wanted to have looked at. The first thing that he wanted me to diagnose was a leaking shower valve. After diagnostic, I determined that the shower valve was old and compromised, and I recommended that the customer replaced the shower valve to avoid any leakages in the wall. Customer agreed. I advised customer that I would need to open the wall from the backside of the shower to access the pecks connections to re-pipe to the valve. After completion, I turned the valve on to test for leaks, and there were no leaks. Valve and trim kit fully installed. Customer also wanted me to take a look at his angle stops around the house. After inspecting all of the angle stops, I determine that they were two stops that needed to be replaced immediately. I wrote an estimate for both stops, which happened to be for two toilets. Customer also wanted me to look at the drainage system in th
⸻ John the Plumber Report We arrived at the property and discovered a leak located after the meter. We contacted the homeowner by phone to explain our findings and provided a quote for performing a leak detection. We also informed him that we would need to call 811 before proceeding with any physical work to locate the leak. The homeowner stated that he is currently collecting multiple quotes and is not ready to move forward at this time. We advised that we would send him a formal quote for the leak detection. If he chooses to proceed with the repair through us, half of the leak detection cost will be credited back toward the total repair. No further recommendations at this time
We arrived at the property after the homeowner reported a clogged toilet. Our initial approach was to clear the obstruction using a toilet auger. During the process, the auger became lodged inside the toilet and had to be cut and removed. We then recommended proceeding with the next step: pulling and resetting the toilet. The homeowner agreed, and we performed the work at a discounted rate. After reinstalling the toilet, we thoroughly tested our work and confirmed that no leaks were present. It is important to note that the flooring beneath the toilet is highly uneven. To address this, we shimmed the toilet properly to ensure stability and a level fit. We informed the homeowner to avoid using the toilet for 24 hours to allow for full seal setting. No other recommendations at this time.
At this time, customer did not want to move forward with the job due to changing the main exterior gate valve. John the Plumber could not proceed to change the main gate valve because the main water meter also has a gate valve and the handle is broken off of it. Customer is going to call the city to have the meter changed out and then book the appointment with us once this is taken care of.
We arrived at the property today after the homeowner reported a leaking kitchen faucet. Upon inspection, the homeowner decided she would rather replace the faucet than attempt a repair. She went out and purchased the new faucet herself. We removed the old unit and installed the new faucet as requested. In addition to this, we replaced four angle stops by installing two dual angle stops. All connections were tested, and no leaks were observed. No further recommendations at this time. ⸻
Service Description: Performed a comprehensive gas leak test on the existing ½" soft copper gas line servicing the outdoor fire pit. Upon inspection, it was determined that the flare-type brass fitting on the soft copper line was compromised, presenting a potential safety hazard and a non-compliant connection for gas service. Provided the homeowner with two remedial options: Abandon and cap the existing compromised gas line at the source. Reroute a new gas line using ½" Type L hard copper tubing with gas-rated press fittings, fully compliant with local plumbing and fuel gas codes. Homeowner elected to cap off the existing line due to the pending sale of the property. Executed proper termination by capping the gas line with an approved gas-rated brass cap and applied leak detection solution to verify seal integrity. No gas leaks detected upon final inspection. Gas line safely decommissioned and left in a secure, code-compliant condition.
Upon arrival, customer informed me that they had found water on the ground in the upstairs guest bathroom and wanted to make sure that they weren’t looking at a leak. Customer said that some of the tiles were coming up in the bathroom floor and there were some water damage that they can visibly see. I’d advise customer that I would need to do a diagnostic to find out the source of the water before I ran a leak detection. Customer showed me the water damage on the floor in the bathroom and it was right outside of where the shower curb is. I turned the shower on to see if we were getting any water while running the shower. I explained to the customer that I determined that the cause of the water is actually just from the shower head splashing outside of the shower. Customer did not have a shower curtain And the showerhead was spraying outside of the actual shower. Customer also informed me that they had some low pressure issues with regards to the hot water system. After a small diagnost
Upon arrival, customer informed me that she had a kitchen sink stoppage, and it was backing up into her dishwasher as well. I advised customer that I would need to do a diagnostic to determine the cause of the stoppage, which will require me to remove the P-trap and test the electric. The first thing that I did was test the garbage disposal to make sure it engaged. Garbage disposal did not turn on when engaging the switch initially so I advised customer that I would need to isolate the power to find out if the outlet was functioning. We remove the garbage disposal, power cord, and plugged in an extension cord with a phone charger and other plug dependent items to test if there’s any power. None of the items worked meaning that the power was not working. After relaying power from an Other outlet using my extension cord, I plugged the disposal and and reset it. Disposal turned on right away. There was some standing debris in the disposal so I removed it with my hand. Customer stoppage wa
Customer is in the process of having new kitchen countertops installed and required a comprehensive estimate for reconnection of under-sink plumbing components post-countertop installation. Provided detailed estimate to reinstall customer-supplied garbage disposal, properly seated and mounted with supplied collar, along with reconnection of P-trap assembly and filtration system once new countertops are in place. Work to include leak testing, flow verification, and code-compliant configuration of all fittings. During the site visit, technician observed aging plumbing fixtures in the guest bathroom and proactively recommended replacement of existing toilet due to potential performance issues. Offered installation of a Kohler Santa Rosa one-piece toilet. 15% discount was applied with toilet replacement.
Upon arrival customer had a shower handle that was mot attached. Further inspection shower valve handle is unable to be attached because the mounting screw to handle has broken off into shower cartridge. We are unable to locate shower cartridge for old pfister valve and will need to replace with new moen shower valve. We have scheduled for 10am on Thursday this upcoming week. Thank you for calling John The Plumber -Shane
This service was a follow-up recall related to a suspected leak that was investigated during a previous visit last week. Upon arrival, a thorough inspection of the plumbing system and all accessible fixtures was performed. No signs of active water leaks or water damage were found anywhere in the home. All plumbing components appeared to be in proper working condition. The son of the homeowner was present during the inspection and confirmed there were no visible signs of leaking or related concerns. For further confirmation, we also consulted with the original technician who completed the initial leak search. He verified that our findings were consistent with his previous evaluation. Conclusion: At this time, no plumbing issues are present, and no repairs are necessary. The plumbing system is functioning as intended. We appreciate the customer's diligence and are glad to provide peace of mind. Should any future issues arise, we remain available and ready to assist.
John the plumber was called out today for a stoppage in master bathroom, and a running toilet in the guest bathroom. On arrival the customer showed us the master bathroom toilet bubbling while the shower is running and the guest bathroom toilet running even with the emergency stop all the way off. I wrote up multiple estimates and presented them to the customer. Job details: Customer chose to go with the top option which included the following. Replace main gate valve with a ball valve. Replaced fill valve and flapper with a new angle stop for the guest bathroom toilet. (The reason why the fill valve and flapper were replaced was the toilet was constantly running for at least three days). After all that was completed, technician then proceeded to remove the toilet in the master bathroom to clear the blockage. Well technician was running to sneak through the drain, he was pulling back roots. Technician was able to clear out majority of the routes, but if not treated roots will e
Upon arrival customer had a smart toilet leaking from base of toilet. Further inspection water heater was from 2017 and out of 6 year warranty. Main water shut off was an old style gate valve that was hard to turn for customer. We went head and repiped main water shut off with new 1/4 turn ball valve and replaced hose bib. In order to do this we had to chip into block wall and we are not responsible for replacing block work. We also pulled smart toilet and resealed toilet to floor after replacing emergency stop and supply line to toilet. Thank you for calling John The Plumber -Shane
